A Dream That Grew With Us
Laleau Studios began with a friendship.
Back in high school, a friend and I came up with the name while dreaming about the things we wanted to create. We were young, full of ideas, and at a point in our lives when the future felt full of possibility. Our dreams felt just around the corner, and there was so much we had yet to discover about ourselves and the world.
Life, of course, had other plans.
As we grew older, the world changed in ways we couldn’t have anticipated. The pandemic arrived, adulthood looked different from what we had imagined, and the paths ahead became a little less certain. Like so many people in our generation, we had to learn how to navigate change while still figuring out who we wanted to become.
Over time, life took us in different directions. But some things remain meaningful long after the moment that inspired them has passed.
For me, Laleau Studios is one of those things.
It is a piece of a time I look back on with fondness, a reminder of the dreams we once shared, and a way to carry something beautiful from that chapter into the next. It reminds me that growing up doesn’t mean we have to forget who we were, and that a dream can continue to mean something even as it changes shape.
Creating Laleau Studios now feels like returning to a part of myself I want to nurture again. Not by trying to recreate the past, but by building something meaningful with everything I’ve learned since.
Perhaps that is what growing up really asks of us: to appreciate where we began, accept that life will change us, and find the courage to keep going.
This is my way of honouring the beginning while making room for everything that comes next.
